MASAIS GO TO KENYA EMBASSY TO FIND A SOLUTION

By AMEDEUS SOMI,

The Maasai march on the Kenyan embassy to ask the Kenyan government to intervene in the ongoing misconduct of the loliondo and ngorongoro exercise by civil society organizations and activists living in the country.

Maasai from various parts of the country have staged a peaceful protest against the Kenyan embassy in Tanzania, located in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam today, June 17, 2022, asking the Kenyan government to intervene in the misconduct of civil society and activists in the ongoing voluntary relocation exercise in Ngorongoro district. as well as the Loliondo division.

The Maasai have stated that the distortion is aimed at uniting the Maasai community with the Tanzanian government, as well as undermining the various consensus efforts reached by both parties.

this was stated in a joint letter signed by the union secretary known as Loishiye Lashilunye read by a caravan leader who identified himself by the same name as Emanuel.

This move comes after the exercise of marking the boundaries in the Loliondo area as well as the mobility of the people of Ngorongoro where despite the government noticing the presence of new settlements in the Handeni area, there have been distortions and incitement aimed at hampering the exercise.
